Carolyn & Gareth at Kilmore House, Glenariffe

As soon as I met Carolyn and Gareth I knew their wedding was going to be relaxed and lots of fun. I was especially looking forward to working at Kilmore House in Glenariffe for the first time, having heard lots of great things about the venue.

Before Kilmore, Carolyn and Gareth held their wedding service in Ballywalter on the east coat of the Ards peninsula. This was a great setting in the sunshine for a few shots on the beach before the drive across to Kilmore.

Kilmore didn’t disappoint, it’s a true gem of a wedding venue hidden away amongst the hills in perfect seclusion. I’m still amazed at the skills of the coach driver for managing to get the guests down the steep narrow lanes! I had a great day shooting Carolyn and Gareths special day, a very special couple & wedding day perfection.

Congratulations!

The Treehouse Belfast with Nicole & Michael

I spent a few hours with Nicole, Michael and their family and friends at the Treehouse in Belfast for their wedding party. They had got married the previous week in sunny Portugal, so this was a chance to party with all their friends. With limited time and daylight, we popped across to the nearby City hall to get a few pics in the grounds. I’m really happy with the set of images, having used my trusty Elinchrom Quadra portable flash equipment to create some striking lighting.

Congratulations Nicole and Michael!

Fiona + Peter at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana, Donegal

A very wet day in Donegal!

A very wet day in Donegal!

We are so lucky in Ireland to have some of the most stunning scenery along the coastline. But we can’t always guarantee the weather! Fiona and Peters day at the Inishowen Gateway was wet and windy, but they were both really keen to get out onto the beach along the Donegal coastline. The weather never puts me off and with a brave bride and groom, there was no stopping us!

The positive side of the bad weather, is a dramatic, stormy looking sky. I have to admit that I soemtimes prefer this to a nice sunny scene. If only it could be done without getting wet!

Congratulation Fiona and Peter, your day was really special and lots of fun.

Aislinn & Michael - Lough Erne Resort

Lough Erne Resort is a stunning place to get married any time of the year! This particular visit for Aislinn and Michaels night day was on New Years Eve, giving the wedding an extra special party feel.

After a long drive from Belfast, we were quickly running out of light, but luckily managed to get a few quick snaps down by the Lough before we lost all the light.

It was a great day with the guys and I wish them all the very best for their future together.

Adam + Gemma - Harvey's Point, Donegal

Festive fun with Adam + Gemma @ Harvey's Point, Donegal

Driving to Donegal early in the morning to meet up with Adam & Gemma on their wedding day was a bit of a challenge. The weather was not shaping up good at all! It didnt concern me at all though, as the venue for their wedding was the fantastic Harvey’s point, which has plenty of room inside.

Adam & Gemma’s wedding was a truely special day, full of fun and energy from their amazing family and friends. We managed to brave the weather for a few moments as the rain gave us a short break, making the most of the stunning views from the hotel.

Congratulations Adam & Gemma!

Aaron & Sophie - Leighinmohr House Hotel, Ballymena

Leighinmohr House Hotel in Ballymena is quickly becoming one of the most popular wedding venues in Northern Ireland and rightly so! The team have done a great job in renovating the hotel with such an attention to detail. I’m especially excited by the recent opening of their new riverside garden which is going to provide a great backdrop to my upcoming weddings at the venue.

Aaron & Sophies wedding at Leighinmohr was a brilliant day and we managed to capture lots of great moments thanks to the kind weather and the patient couple. We wondered around Antrim castle gardens for a few pics, before heading across to Leighinmohr House hotel.

Congratulations Aaron and Sophie!

Stefanie & Bobby - Ballyscullion Park

It’s always great discovering new wedding venues, so I was in for a treat at Stef & Bobby’s wedding at the fantastic Ballyscullion Park in Magherafelt. The torrential rain didn’t put a dampener on the day at all, with the bride and groom braving the rain for some outside shots around the amazing grounds.

I’m looking forward to more weddings in the future at Ballyscullion Park!

Congratulations Stef and Bobby.

Hannah & Stephen - Orange Tree House, Greyabbey

Mark_Barnes_Northern_Ireland_Wedding_Photography_Orangetreehouse-greyabbey_Wedding_Photography-previews-67.jpg

The Orange Tree House is amongst my favourite venues in Northern Ireland. It simply has it all - a stunning location with amazing views across Strangford Lough, a traditional stone barn style interior & the perfect hosts with Jan and Simon looking after the guests.

So it is always a please to get asked to return - this time for Hannah & Stephen special day. I felt like part of the family throughout the day with Hannah and Stephen, having a great time with all their friends and family capturing the day as it unfolded. A short distance from the venue are some historic ruins, which provide the perfect backdrop for some images. We managed to get across to the ruins as well as taking a walk onto the shore of Strangford Loough for an amazing sunset!

I’m looking forward to more visits to Orange Tree House and I’m over the moon that they have now included me in their official wedding brochure!

Congratulations Hannah and Stephen :)
