Katie + Darren - Spring sun in Northern Ireland

I met Katie and Darren over 5 years ago at a mutual friends wedding.  I'll never forget Katie telling me that day that she wanted me to photograph her wedding whenever she got married.  5 years later and it happened!

Katie and Darren moved to Australia a couple of years back, so their wedding had a real family feel, with the service being held at Katie's family church and the reception in the grounds of their local pub.  Only being back from Australia for a short time gave the day such a special feel, with everyone making the most of having the amazing couple back with them.

The sun shone all day for Katie and Darren and after an amazing sunset, the part continued on into the early hours.  What a day.

Congratulations Katie & Darren (miss you guys!) x

Jack & Claire at Winkworth Farm, Malmesbury

When Jack called me to ask me to shoot his upcoming wedding, I was over the moon.  I have known Jack for a few years, having previously worked with him and it always feels like such an honour when a friend asks me to be their photographer.

Winkworth farm is set on the edge of the Cotswolds and features a lovingly restored barn, which is perfect for spring time weddings! Jack and Claire were very lucky, as the recent bad weather eased up for the day and we had plenty of sunshine.  They weren't taking any chances though, so decided to hold the wedding ceremony inside the building, rather than outside in the courtyard area.

The day went perfectly, apart from a near mini disaster when the florists van broke down on the M4, but they turned up just in time!   To round the day off, we were lucky to catch a great sunset across the farm in the evening, followed by a bit of YMCA on the dance floor.  Perfect!

Here's a few of the images from their special day (feel free to leave comments at the bottom of the page)

Christmas in Northern Ireland

For the past 8 years, I have been lucky enough to spend my Christmas holidays in Northern Ireland.  Spending each Christmas with my wife's family is always very special and there are always plenty of photo opportunities due to the outstanding beauty of the country.

Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland

Not many beaches in the UK, or even the world can boast the magnificient views that are provided by the Slieve Donard mountain in Newcastle, which towers over small the seaside town.  Dominating the small town of Newcastle is the impressive Slieve Donard hotel, which seems to occupy a huge portion of the coast line.  Lining the gardens of the hotel is a whole host of sculptures, which are impressive on their own, but look even more stunning with the mountains in the background.

Shortly after taking the above photographs in Newcastle, a massive storm rolled in from the Atlantic making the next few days difficult to leave the safe surroundings of our house in Hillsborough.   Never mind though, it's Christmas and there's plenty of mince pies and alcohol!
