Autumn fun at Folly Farm Centre, with Laura + Jools

I love photographing weddings and feel so lucky to be part of the most special day in peoples lives.  I especially love my work when working with couples like Laura and Jools - we had such a great time all day!

Late Autumn weddings are always a gamble weather wise and I was fearing the worst on this particular day, the rain was relentless all morning and there seemed to be little hope of an improvement in the situation.  Within 10 mins of arriving, I was already soaking wet and covered in mud.  The weather wasn't have any negative effect on the happy couple, both were full of energy and excited about the day ahead.  Luckily, there was a magician on hand to entertain the guests inside before the wedding breakfast.

The bright Autumn leaves at Folly Farm provided some relief from the grey skies and once the rain cleared up, we were able to get lots of nice shots around the venue. Folly farms setting is stunning, up high on the hills overlooking south Bristol in perfect seclusion.

The whole day was full of fun, laughter and even some magic.  Congratulations Laura + Jools (sorry this is so late!)

Helen and Gavins Wedding at Aldwick Court Farm and Vineyard

Gavin and Helens big day at Aldwick Court Farm and Vineyard in Redhill was my first trip to this stunning venue and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect day.  When the sun is shining, September really is the perfect time of the year to get married, with the low sun and earlier sunsets.

I popped over to Weston Super-mare to meet the Gavin and his best man Ross first thing in the morning and had a fun little photo-shoot in the garden, which included plenty of heckling from the next door neighbour who was busy cutting his lawn!  By the time I reached Helen at her parents house, she was almost ready to get into her amazing dress, being hurried along by an anxious father.  Helen eventually made it to the Church a little late, so I was under strict instructions from the Vicar to not hold her up outside.  That was not a problem, as I rarely setup photo's prior to the service, opting for the more natural shots instead.

Christ Church in Redhill is a photographers dream, with plenty of space, lots of natural light and a huge wooden roof.  For the first time in my career as a wedding photographer, the vicar mentioned me during the service due to my comments about the Church resembling the Tardis!

After the service, we stopped en-route to Aldwick Court to use a family friends mansion and grounds for a few pics.  I had such a great afternoon with Gavin and Helen at Aldwick court and was invited to join them for the Breakfast, which was so lovely of them.  The food at the venue is out of this world and their own brand wine, made at the vineyard was just as delicious.

To cap things off, there was an amazing firework display courtesy of Firemagic

Chris and Jade's Wedding at The Square Club, Bristol

It's not very often that I get the opportunity to shoot a wedding in the centre of Bristol, with most wedding venues being out of town. So I was really excited ahead of Chris and Jade's big day as it was being held at the Square Club Hotel, right in the heart of Bristol.

The Square club is a unique boutique hotel set within Berkeley square, just a stones throw away from the Clifton triangle.  Surrounded by some stunning Georgian buildings, with a park also within the square ensured that the photo opportunities were endless.

The day threatened to be a wash out, with some torrential rain during the morning.  I had the umbrellas at the ready,  but luckily the rain cleared up as their service ended so we didn't get too wet (although as usual, I ended up covered in mud whilst trying to get the creative angles covered!)

Chris and Jade were great fun to work with and I hope the good time we had capturing the day is reflected within the photo's.  Feel free to leave any comments below! X

Samantha + Lee at Aztec Spa and Hotel, Bristol

The weather has been pretty poor so far this summer, so it was a welcome surprise to spend the day with Samantha and Lee in the Bristol sunshine.  In fact, it was almost too hot, I had to lose the suit jacket straight after the wedding ceremony!

This was my first time working at the Aztec Spa and Hotel in Bristol, but I have spent some time around the adjacent area before, so I knew all the great places hidden around the venue to go and get some shots of the happy couple.  Lee and Samantha were both a joy to work with and their day was full of tears and laughter - especially during the reception when a bouquet of flowers somehow managed to get thrown all over Lee's Dad. That was certainly a first for me!

Alison & Giles Wedding at Guyers House, Corsham

Alison and Giles springtime wedding at Guyers House

I have been so lucky this year with the various venues that I have been working at and the amazing couples who I have spent many days with whilst shooting their special days.  This wedding was no exception, Guyers house is a stunning country house in Corsham, near Bath and Alison & Giles were both an absolute dream to work with.

Being a springtime wedding, the weather can never be guaranteed and the threat of a downpour was never far away. Luckily, the rain held off until the late into the evening, allowing all the guests to make the most of the amazing gardens around the venue.  The gardens provided the perfect backdrop for some great springtime shots.

Here's a selection of the pictures from the day, feel free to leave any comments at the bottom of the page!

Heidi & Daniel - Bristol Hilton Hotel

I had the privilege of photographing Heidi and Daniels special day last Saturday at the Hilton Hotel in Bristol.  The weather forecast was not great for the day, with lots of wind and heavy rain forecast.  I was hoping that the forecasts might have been wrong, but we were not so lucky!   I met Heidi at her Dad's house in Bradley Stoke, which was packed full of a very excited family and took some shots of Heidi and her family getting prepared for the day ahead.  We decided against taking any outdoor shots at this point due to the bad weather, which was a shame as the garden looked immaculate.

I was hoping to be able to drive the bride and groom across to nearby Tockington to get some outdoor shots, as there are some stunning locations around the area, but due to the high winds and rain we never ventured any further than the hotel car park.   I was pleased that we still managed to get some nice outdoor shots and I also managed to persuade Heidi and Daniel to run outside for an evening shot later on.

I had a great day with Heidi, Daniel, Freya and their friends and family - the party really got going on the dance floor later on!

Congratulations to Heidi and Daniel.   Please feel free to add comments below the images!
