Family photoshoot with the Hu's

I met up with the Hu family last week at the Blaise castle estate in Bristol for a photoshoot.  Willow contacted me a few weeks earlier to book a surprise photoshoot for her Grandmother, who was visiting from China.   I suggested that we meet at the Blaise castle estate, as its the perfect place for family portraits with fields, a river, a cave, plenty of trees and a Castle!

Tanya had a great time exploring the castle grounds and was the perfect little star in front of the camera.

Please get in touch if you would like to book a family portrait session.

Here's a few of the shots...

Heidi & Daniel - Bristol Hilton Hotel

I had the privilege of photographing Heidi and Daniels special day last Saturday at the Hilton Hotel in Bristol.  The weather forecast was not great for the day, with lots of wind and heavy rain forecast.  I was hoping that the forecasts might have been wrong, but we were not so lucky!   I met Heidi at her Dad's house in Bradley Stoke, which was packed full of a very excited family and took some shots of Heidi and her family getting prepared for the day ahead.  We decided against taking any outdoor shots at this point due to the bad weather, which was a shame as the garden looked immaculate.

I was hoping to be able to drive the bride and groom across to nearby Tockington to get some outdoor shots, as there are some stunning locations around the area, but due to the high winds and rain we never ventured any further than the hotel car park.   I was pleased that we still managed to get some nice outdoor shots and I also managed to persuade Heidi and Daniel to run outside for an evening shot later on.

I had a great day with Heidi, Daniel, Freya and their friends and family - the party really got going on the dance floor later on!

Congratulations to Heidi and Daniel.   Please feel free to add comments below the images!

Avon Valley Railway - Santa Special!

Christmas is almost here again, I'm not sure where this year has gone to! This year has been very special for me for many different reasons.   I have been so lucky to have met so many great couples and families through my Photography business and cannot wait for the wedding season to start again early next year, I have so many amazing weddings to look forward to.  On a personal level, this year has been amazing, with our youngest son Archie arriving last New Years Eve.  My family are so special to me and the build up to Christmas has been amazing, with Leo getting more excited every day about Santa bringing him lots of presents!

The Avon Valley Railway in Bitton, between Bristol and Bath is the perfect place to take an excitable young children to meet Santa! We had a great morning on the old Steam train, eating mince pies and waiting for Santa to make his way to our carriage to meet the children.  Leo was over the moon.

Great Grandparents & the boys

Last weekend, I took my boys up to Chester to visit their Great-Grandad Bill & Great-Nanna Eva, who are unfortunately now in separate care homes.  They are both very old now and my Nan no longer recognises who I am, but they are both the loveliest Grandparents and I'm so lucky to still have them in our lives.

Leo and Archie bring so much joy to them both whenever we visit and this time it was especially noticeable.  Leo brought along a book of Fireman Sam stickers and had lots of fun sticking them all over his Great Grandparents, which they both loved.  The long drive up to Chester was worth it just to see the happiness that the boys brought to my Grandparents and even looking back at these photographs now makes me very emotional.
